Why a website focusing on MMR systems
 |
 |
We can all agree that the creation of a digitalized patient
record system may avoid potential errors and saving lives bringing
greater benefit to clinicians and patients: shareability:
- sharing patient information among authorized clinicians of the Hospital
- accuracy and documentation in health care avoiding handwriting, which can lead to medical errors due to illegibility, non-standardized abbreviations, or other misinformation
- workflow: to achieve a more efficient way of delivering healthcare
- clinical decision support systems depend on patient’s clinical information stored in electronic format.
However, in a new scenario of digitalized patient record systems in the Healthcare ICT we can easily identify two macro different type of systems that need to interoperate one with the other:
- the backend systems, able to store and collect years of clinical information of all patients, specialized in clinical decision support to clinicians and reporting statistics of therapies: we will call this kind of systems EMR, Electronic Medical Records
- the frontend or mobile systems, able to manage, store and display actual patient’s clinical information retrieved at patient’s bed at the right time the clinical events are occurring providing the clinicians of all information they need, witout using the paper; we will call this kind of systems MMR, Mobile Medical Records
So this website wants to better clear up the differences between the two applications with the ambitious goal of proposing the concept of a new integrated patient record system that combines the benefits of both interoperating subsystems described above:
- EMR: Electronic Medical Record
- MMR: Mobile Medical Record
